B.H.R.S. Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Services (Formerly Wraparound)

BHRS services are intensive mental health services for children and adolescents with or at risk of developing severe emotional disorders and their families.

The Green Tree School BHRS Program is designed to provide intensive individual, group and family therapy; behavior management; guidance in the identification and utilization of needed resources; and strategic therapeutic interventions and skills training to children, adolescents and their families or care providers.

All children and youth that are involved in the program are given the opportunity to maximize their learning potential through the use of the most developed psychotherapeutic techniques, parent training procedures, curriculum standards and classroom management strategies.  The primary objective of the program is to sustain each child in his/her home environment.

The following services are provided based upon the needs of the student:

  • PSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATION:
This is the initial evaluation and reevaluation of the student every 120 days.

  • BEHAVIOR SPECIALIST CONSULTANT (BSC):
He/she designs and implements a behavior modification plan.  The BSC identifies the goals and techniques, and recommends non-aversive behavioral change methods.

  • MOBILE THERAPY:
The mobile therapist (MT) provides intensive therapeutic services to a student and their family, in settings other than a provider office or agency.  These settings include the student's home, church, community center, school and other community settings.  This therapy is child-centered and family-focused.

  • THERAPUETIC STAFF SUPPORT (TSS):
The role of the TSS worker is to provide therapeutic support to the student in specific areas of social, behavioral and emotional concern and needs that that have been identified by the student and family and addressed in the treatment plan.  This individual also facilitates the growth and development of therapeutic support skills in parents, family members, educators and others to ensure that such support is maintained for the child as professional interventions are decreased and terminated.

  • CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES:
The role of the case manager is to coordinate, link and access services.  The case manager will schedule all evaluations and interagency meetings, as well as ensuring services are being provided as stated.  The case manager keeps all parties apprised of developments and motivates for change as needed.

The BHRS Process

A Green Tree School staff member will refer a student for the service if in their clinical, opinion he/she is in need of the service.  Once the referral is made, the following will occur:

  1.  The family is contacted, and the child is scheduled for an intake evaluation.

  2. A meeting is scheduled with the family to discuss the findings of the test, and to plan for treatment.  The specifics of the findings and treatments are discussed and agreed upon.

  3. An authorization packet is prepared and submitted to Community Behavioral Health (CBH) for approval.

  4. Once approved, staff will be assigned and the services will be implemented within ten days.
