Green Tree School and Services and PAHrtners Deaf Services have collaborated to provide educational services to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students with emotional disturbance presenting with behavioral challenges. Serving students in both elementary and secondary school, this program offers special education services to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students residing within a PAHrtners residence as well as those living in the greater Philadelphia community.
The program utilizes the Bilingual/Bicultural model to teach both American Sign Language and English while also recognizing Deaf culture. Wrap-around support services are provided in accordance with Individualized Education Plans, including: speech therapy, occupational therapy, clinical therapy, extended school year, and specialized positive behavior support services.
Through this collaboration PAHrtners Deaf Services and Green Tree School and Services are able to support and educate Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in a safe environment with full communication accessibility.
