Program Consultation and Support Services

As schools restructure existing programs for students with SED and ASD, or considering creation of new alternatives, Green Tree Partnerships can help in the assessment, planning and implementation process. Green Tree consultants also can provide targeted, specialized services to enhance the effectiveness of schools’ programs.

Program Assessments

Green Tree consultants can assess the efficacy of programs currently in operation within a school. Using a six-step process—orientation conference, document review, stakeholder interviews, on-site observation, written report, and debriefing conference—consultants provide schools feedback on the strengths and weaknesses of existing service delivery systems. Assessment can be summative—that is, help schools decide whether to maintain current programs or replace them with alternatives—or formative—that is, provide recommendations for continuous improvement of programs. Assessments can also assist schools in providing the particular documentation required by specific funding sources.

New Program Design

Green Tree consultants have collaborated with schools districts in greater Philadelphia and other metropolitan areas in creating new school-based programs for students with SED and ASD. Our team has experience in designing and implementing full-inclusion schools, emotional support programs, after-school and summer programs, and specialized one-on-one support models. We have also supported schools in creating positive behavioral supports that promote pro-social school cultures and prevent anti-social behavior.

Behavioral Health and Education Integration

Green Tree’s Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Services (“Wraparound Program”) has been highly successful in providing school- and community-based support for students with significant disabilities. Our consultants have in-depth expertise that can help schools make effective use of behavioral health services.

Anti-Bullying Support

Bullying is a near-universal, insidious problem in schools. Green Tree consultants are conversant with several anti-bullying curricula and have provided in-service training and targeted direct service, including facilitation of student groups focused on understanding, preventing, and confronting bullying.

Teacher Assistance Team Support

Pre-referral, child study, and other school-based teams that aim to better understand and support students deemed at-risk of developing chronic behavioral problems can benefit from the ongoing participation of Green Tree’s highly experienced consultants.

Principal Support

School-based administrators, faced with new or accelerating behavioral challenges, often benefit from confidential counsel and/or technical expertise as they address emergent problems and devise proactive, positive-oriented solutions. Green Tree consultants have extensive experience in supporting principals’ leadership in promoting pro-social climates.
