Green Tree School Admissions
At the Green Tree School, we understand that families seeking quality education services for a student with special needs can be overwhelmed by the process and we are here to help! Green Tree School is an Approved Private School (APS) that is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education to provide specialized education for students with emotional and behavioral challenges. We provide full-time, out-of-district placement, for children from ages 5-21 with emotional support or autistic support needs. Through our unique PAHRTNERS @ GTS program, we are also able to support students that are deaf and also have emotional and behavioral needs.
Green Tree School supports students from Philadelphia and the surrounding counties, and we receive referral information directly from the school district and/or charter school that the student attends. Funding for the student’s education at Green Tree School is provided by the home school district or the Pennsylvania Department of Education, and there is no cost to parents or guardians. That tuition includes any related services recommended by the student’s IEP Team, including occupational therapy, speech therapy, reading specialist services, school counseling, and behavioral assessment and intervention planning. Transportation to our school is also provided by the student’s home school district or charter.
We have open enrollment, and we evaluate students for admission throughout the school year and over summer months. The admissions process is generally initiated by the referring school district or charter school and includes an interview and tour for all prospective families. Contact our Admissions Coordinator, Dareema DeVose, by calling (215) 866-0200 or emailing ddevose@GTS-S.org. Referring LEAs should include the following information in a referral packet for screening:
